Fire and Water: for people who argue in the kitchen – a Feng Shui Tip

Kitchen example of Fire near WaterIn today’s trend of simplifying life by having smaller houses and therefore smaller kitchens we can run into some Feng Shui issues. This kitchen shows a problem and a solution. In Feng Shui we talk about the five elements. These elements can existing in a positive, creative cycle or in a destructive negative cycle. What we see in this picture is the sink (Water) next to the stove (Fire). Water destroys Fire. How this manifests in the home is by bringing discord, arguments, and periods of high energy and followed by very low energy.

There’s a solution shown in the picture. We can put these two elements on the creative cycle by adding the element of Wood.  We could use something made of wood, a plant or an object with the color green (as shown here). Now the elements flow together. Water creates Wood and Wood creates Fire. Problem solved.
